Karen and Jeff's World

On May 14th Karen’s youngest, Sam, graduated from Colorado School of Mines. Mines is located in Golden, Colorado. We went up for the graduation along with Karen’s oldest, John, and his family. It was a very pleasant day and the ceremony was nice.

Afterwards, we went out to lunch. During lunch Sam said that he had to get to department party. As it turns out he was to receive the Outstanding Senior Award for the Math Department. Which caught Karen by surprise.

We went to the 4th of July Parade here in Monument, CO. This time we were smart and bicycled over, it’s only 3 miles. Last time we took the shuttle bus from the high school next to us. Coming back on the bus took longer than if we had walked home. We forgot that it was an election year. Well, that is until the parade started. At least half of the parade entries were political. Note to self: Don’t go the parade again in an election year.

We still had a good time, even with all the political stuff. Watching the audience was as fun as watching the parade.
